10 Top Bloggers of 2014

top bloggersSo, here we are in 2015 – a new year and a time when many bloggers reflect on their past year and what lies ahead for them in the year to come.

Something I’ve noticed many bloggers do is give a shout-out to other bloggers who they feel have been outstanding in some way in the previous year. I did this myself last January so I figured I’d do it again this year.

I decided to approach things a little differently this time. Last year I wrote about ten bloggers who had been helpful, inspirational or supportive to me personally through the year before.

This time, I want to focus on YOU. Whilst it’s true that I’ve got great value from all the bloggers I will be featuring this time, some of them may not be my ‘blogging buddies’ or even people with whom I’ve had a huge amount of interaction. However they are all top bloggers whom I have carefully selected and ones who I know always provide phenomenal content. Also, these are entirely different from the ten great bloggers I featured last year.

I’ve noticed that a few of these bloggers haven’t posted anything for the last couple of months, but that doesn’t matter. Still be sure to check them out as they have some amazing stuff in their archives from which I’m sure you’ll get amazing value.

So here they are, in no particular order:

I’ve mentioned Ryan a number of times on my blog and there’s good reason for this. He is a great guy who always comes up with fantastic, thought-provoking and actionable content. I am always entertained when I visit his blog and never fail to come away with a smile.

Neamat was someone whom I wanted to feature last year, however she was taking a break from blogging. Thankfully she has since come back and, as usual, she provides thoughtful, inspirational and profound content that really hits home and gets to the very depths of the point she’s making.

Reginald is a fantastic guy. He seems to be always on the go with some project or other and is someone to go to if you want to know about some of the more ‘techie’ side of things. He’s extremely approachable and helpful too if you ever need to contact him.

Donna is one of those people who is always so appreciative of every connection you make with her, whether it be on social media, on her blog or via content on your own blog. She’s a very supportive lady who will always have something nice to say, yet her blog posts are always direct, to-the-point and if you weren’t thinking before you read a post of hers, you will be afterwards!

Sylviane is someone whom I think of as being an ‘outside the box’ kind of blogger. She’s very much herself, writes from her heart and is not afraid to tell it like it is. But just like all those I’ve mentioned so far, everything she does is done with care, kindness and with a genuine desire to help others.

Harleena is another one of those really supportive, positive people who always has something nice to say. Her blog is a little different in that it covers a whole variety of niches, yet even if Harleena has written on a topic outside your own niche, you’ll still be likely to find something that you can take away and apply to what you’re doing.

There’s a good reason why her site is called, “Traffic Generation Cafe”. If you want tips on generating traffic, Ana is your gal! But it doesn’t stop there. Head on over and take a look through her site and you’ll find a treasure trove of helpful information.

I first came across Don just a short time ago whilst visiting Ryan Biddulph’s blog. Coincidentally, Don headed over here soon after and left a comment on one of my posts. So even though I’ve only recently discovered Don, I’ve looked through a lot of his posts and videos and just had to mention him here as I feel that you will learn a lot of valuable stuff from him.

I love Ryan’s stuff! He’s a straight-shooting Marketer with a great set of ethics, which is something I’m big on. The downside of Ryan’s blog is that a few months ago he removed the ability to comment on his posts, which is a shame because there have been many times that I would have liked to have contributed to the discussion. But no matter, because his marketing expertise is right up there with the best of the best and you’d do well to grab a drink, settle down and spend some time poring over his archives.

Luke’s the only person on this list whom I have met personally. We’d already talked online but I actually met him in person at the Marketing Summit UK in 2014. Luke’s a student of Alex Jeffreys who went from struggling (and I mean STRUGGLING) to being a successful product launcher and coach. This is someone who teaches from honest, gut-wrenching experience and I know that he’s an inspiration to many people, myself included. Oh, and he’s an all-round lovely guy. 🙂 Luke, like Ryan Lee, has removed the ability to comment on his blog but, again, don’t let that put you off visiting. His content is inspirational, eye-opening and compelling.

So there you have it. I strongly encourage you to take some time out and visit each and every one of these wonderful people’s blogs. Combined, in my opinion, they’re like having a four-figure coaching package at your fingertips for free! Please don’t underestimate what each of these top bloggers can teach you.

  1. Hi Glenn,

Wow, how I missed this post. I was at Adrienne’s blog and scrolling down the comments I saw your name and I clicked on your link and here I am to my surprise to find you mentioning me and my blog among these awesome bloggers.

Thanks so much Glenn for the mention and the kind words. I am honored my friend and I am out of words to express how grateful I am to come to know you and most of the awesome bloggers you mentioned here in this round up. I still have 3 which I didn’t connect with yet. I have to check them out.

I am humbled and thank you so much Glenn. Have a great week ahead.

    1. Hi Neamat,

I believe in credit where credit’s due. Yours was always one of the blogs whose updates I most looked forward to, so I was extremely sad when you stopped blogging for a while. As I mentioned in the post, I wanted to feature you in a similar post I made last year but that was after you’d stopped blogging.

When you came back and resumed blogging, well it was obvious to me that I had to feature you in my list this time around! You always provide great, valuable, upbuilding content and more people should know about it. Hopefully my little post here has helped with that. 🙂

I am lucky to be in connect with all of them except one or two. So it all depends upon how strong networking your have to get your work notices and be in connect with good number of people.

Thanks for sharing and have a nice week ahead.

I’m always on the look out for great blogs and I always want to share them when I find them. I seem to recall a certain Mr Handy being featured in a similar post I made around this time last year…. 😉

Thanks for your continued support and companionship on this journey. I think you’re actually probably one of the veteran visitors to my blog, with us meeting either around the time or just after I got it started! It’s great to see you’re keeping going and especially to see your fantastic progress over this time. Onwards and upwards as always! 🙂

  4. Hey Glenn,
I’ve read several of these blogs. They are really good. Donna Merrill is one of my favorites. And I agree with you, she is a super nice lady.

I have connected with her on her blog and on Facebook. She is always willing to help you out and provide support.

I’ll have to take some time to check out the ones I don’t know and revisit the ones I haven’t read in awhile.

    Great list Glenn!

  5. Hey Glenn,

Some fantastic bloggers on that list.

I’ve probably only given some of my attention through the year to your blog, Ryan Lee’s and Luke’s from the list.

Got a list of other blogs in the fitness, business and marketing spaces that I visit, that keeps me occupied. 😛

Keep up the great work that you’re doing 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Always appreciated, my friend.

  6. I like the idea of how you came up with your top 10 blogger list, Glenn! I’m somewhat familiar with WP Chronicles and recently ran across Blogging from Paradise. However, I’m not familiar with the rest.

From time to time (besides visiting some great blogs within the iPro community) I like to visit Matt Cutt’s blog, The Buffer Blog, Social Media Examiner, TechCrunch, Lifehacker, and the like! 🙂

I’ve learned so much valuable stuff from not only those people whom I’ve featured here, but from so many of the bloggers whom I’ve come across in my 2+ years of blogging.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing those blogs that you sometimes visit. Keep up the great work you’re accomplishing on your own blog too. 🙂

Although you’re someone I only came across quite recently, I’ve seen a lot of your content and would feel 100% comfortable in directing someone to you for advice or help. 1. Hi Donna,

      You’re most welcome. 🙂

When I was thinking about who to include on this list it was pretty much a no-brainer. Last year’s list was very much a ‘who I like and has helped me’ kind of list. This time it was more of a case of: if I were to refer bloggers to someone, who would I choose (who wasn’t featured last year)? I had to come up with people about whom I would feel 100% confident to say to someone, “You’ll be in good hands, they’ll look after you.” When I looked at it like that it was glaringly obvious who I had to pick. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and commenting and, more importantly, thanks for being someone in whom I feel confident to highly recommend. 🙂

  9. Hi Glen,
This post is a great share. And a great idea. Thank you. I went through the list and I found a number of bloggers here that I am not familiar with.

I like visiting other bloggers to see what they have to say and I look forward to checking out the ones I am missing on my list. Blog hopping is an excellent way to meet other bloggers and build relationships.

I have to confess last year was a loss for me as far as blog hopping is concerned but I am back now and glad for it.

    Take care!

This is why I like lists like this. It not only shows other people how much we appreciate them and helps to give them a little exposure, but it also helps introduce other bloggers to people they may not have heard of before.

I’m glad you’re back in the saddle with blogging. You’re someone who really knows what they’re doing and you always come up with fantastic content overflowing with value. Whenever I get asked blogging related questions you’re always one of the first people who pops into my mind as a ‘go-to’ person. Hence why you were one of those featured on my list last year. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, Dita. It’s always great to see you and I appreciate everything you do very much.

Focus is essential and having a theme, something with which people can equate you, is good also. I look forward to seeing your progress in 2015. And who knows? Just as I said to Chris, keep pushing forwards and maybe I’ll feature you on my list next year! 😉

  12. Hi Glen, Thanks for such a great list I really liked your top 10 list and I agree that Riyan’s being on top of list is very well acceptable coz if I would have created such list then no doubt it wold be Riyan’s blog or his different style of blogging.I thank you t introduce Luke Corden here as I did not know about this great guy before.

    1. Hi David,

Welcome to my blog and thanks so much for your awesome comment. 🙂

Ryan is a top guy for sure, it’s my pleasure to feature him and help do my little bit to give him some much-deserved exposure.

I’m glad you’re happy to have discovered Luke. The progress he’s made in just the last year has been outstanding. Sure, he’s had a great coach and mentor (something I believe is so important) but he’s demonstrated an enormous amount of determination, dedication and guts to get to where he is now. He’s an excellent example of what can be achieved when you put your mind to it and throw your heart into it.

  13. Hi Glenn. Great list. I must’ve been #11. Lol!! Just kidding!! Seriously, I’ll be checking out each of their blogs and adding them to my blogs to read list. I know I haven’t posted in a little while now, but I was actually under the weather from 12/29/14 through 1/12/15. Although I had been working on some things, it was tough going. I was fighting constant dizziness which actually kept me out of work for a couple of days in that stretch. Luckily, that hasn’t happened now for 5 days. I should be able to get back on track and start thinking of things to post, including a video here and there. Anyway, you have once again provided a truly valuable post for those of us who keep coming back for more.

      1. Hey Glenn.

Thanks, I’ve been dizziness free for 6+ days now. I hope to have something on my blog very soon. Need to brainstorm a little and see what I come up with.

I’ve been thinking of a free product idea about time management using advanced concepts, which I had learned from a book I read back in the 90’s .

These techniques could definitely help everyone, whether they are running a business or doing everyday chores or hobbies.

I actually used them at my last job. It was night and day as to what I got done in my 8 hr shift, compared to what others doing the same work could get done in the same amount of time.

I notice we all talk about goals and steps we need to take to reach them, but haven’t seen much in the way of managing what time we have during the day to accomplish them. What do you think?

Keep in mind, I don’t want to be accused of taking credit for someone else’s work in creating these techniques. Tough thing when you think about it. I have knowledge that would definitely help people out and can’t figure out how to get it out there as my own product.

Anyway, thanks for the kind thoughts about my health.

Have a good one and talk to you soon….Chris

P.S. I will try my best to make it into the top 10 for 2015!!
Chris DeeWaard recently posted…A Year In Transition Comes To An EndMy Profile

        1. I think that’s a great idea, Chris. You’re quite right to not want to be accused of taking credit for someone else’s work. But don’t let that put you off from creating something that’s based on your own experience. So long as you create something that’s unique and based on your own experience and expertise then it should be fine.

It’s not as though you’re taking someone else’s products and releasing it as though it’s your own. Rather, you’re taking something that you’ve learned and imparting that knowledge to other people in your own way.

There’s very little that’s totally new in the information marketing arena. The key is when the creator puts his/her own spin on it so that the finished product is entirely new, even though the principles contained are universal.

I hope that makes sense! 🙂

          1. Hi Glenn.

I’m looking towards doing a case study sort of thing where I document what I get accomplished in say 2 hrs a day for a five day period using the techniques. I will document everything right from the beginning all the way to the end to show how it works.

Thanks for your input. Very helpful as usual.
