How to Avoid Guaranteed Failure

 

Hello folks!

Many, many people have tried, are currently trying and will to try to have their own successful online business. However, not everyone will succeed. Of course, we all want to do all we can to avoid guaranteed failure, no?

So then, what is the single biggest cause of failure?

A lack of knowledge?

Not enough money to invest?

An inadequate teacher?

Not enough time?

All of those reasons and many more can certainly contribute to a lack of success. However, not one of them is necessarily an excuse for failure. Even all of them combined aren’t necessarily an excuse for failure.

There is only one thing, above all else, that will absolutely guarantee failure.

A lack of action.

While all those other things may work against you, make things hard and even mount up to such a degree that you just can’t seem to get past them, they themselves don’t guarantee failure. I’m sure that if you were to ask any successful entrepreneur if he or she has had an easy ride, they will tell you that they’ve had their fair share of difficulties, knockbacks, setbacks and disappointments.

There is one way, though, that problems and difficulties will definitely cause you to fail. That is if you allow them to stop you from taking action.

Inaction is the only way to absolutely guarantee failure. After all, you cannot succeed at something if you haven’t attempted it, right?

Usually, inaction is caused by fear and doubt – a fear of not knowing enough, being criticised, the possibility of things going wrong, a lack of confidence and so on.

If you are experiencing any crippling factors that are preventing you taking action, what can you do to overcome them?

“Don’t Get It Perfect, Just Get It Going”

If you’ve been following me for any length of time you will have likely noticed that this is one of my favourite quotes from one of my mentors, Alex Jeffreys. It was taking that on board and forcing myself to have a shift of mindset that got me to actually start this blog in the first place. Now, while I’m not yet hugely successful, I have achieved a lot and one thing is for sure – if I hadn’t just got things going, I wouldn’t be where I am now.

I do have a tendency to want to get things ‘just right’ before letting them loose, so to speak. But applying those wise words from Alex Jeffreys has enabled me to take action on various occasions and get positive results. If something isn’t perfect, well it doesn’t matter. I can tweak things as I go along. The key is taking action.

“Don’t Try to Reinvent the Wheel”

I’m sure you’ve come across this phrase before. It’s such a simple sentence, yet so very profound, especially when it comes to aspects of business.

Just why is it that the wheel does its job so well? Because it works!

Sure, there can be variations and modifications but essentially, a wheel is a wheel. Why do so many people use them? Because they are hugely successful in performing their function. A wheel does its job perfectly.

The same is true with many aspects of business. We can become so swept up in trying to come up with our ‘angle’ that it prevents us from doing anything at all. This isn’t to say that we shouldn’t try to have our own angle or even completely new ideas. But there is a reason why certain business models or strategies are successful – they work, plain and simple.

So don’t fret over trying to come up with a whole new idea. It’s better to apply an existing method and work on polishing it as you go along rather than spending time agonising how to come up with something completely new and unique and ultimately accomplishing nothing. Furthermore, whatever you do, so long as it’s your own work, will always have a unique element to it because there is only one you. Put your own personality in all you do and there will be people who respond to that.

Final Thoughts

An obstacle is only an obstacle when it’s in your way.

So, you’ve come up against an obstacle? Go over it, around it or even through it! If all else fails, take another route entirely. But don’t allow it to stop you completely.

Keep moving and you will always get somewhere.

Don’t move and you’re 100% guaranteed to get nowhere.
